Jake Hagedorn
1st Assistant Golf Professional

Jake Hagedorn was born and raised in Newport Beach, California. Jake grew up playing every sport except GOLF. He went on to play football at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. It was after college football that Jake picked up the game of golf. One prime summer afternoon he went to the course and has not put a club down since. It was then that he decided he wanted a career in golf.

After graduating from the Professional Golfers Career College in Temecula, he fell in love with the golf industry and all that comes with it, including networking, customer service, and being a true professional. Jake started his first job as an outside service/golf professional at Valencia Country Club. After one year in the golf environment, Jake moved back to his home town of Newport Beach. There, he was one of the golf Professionals at Newport Beach Country Club, home of the Champions Tour event The Hoag Classic.

Jake has 10 years’ experience with instruction and clinics. He has worked with all ages and handicaps. In addition, he enjoys the challenge of helping everyone to achieve their goals. He really enjoys teaching, playing, and growing the game. Jake's golf teaching philosophy is swing your swing. Everyone has their own unique golf swing; therefore, their game should reflect that.

In 2020 Jake moved to Montana to take care of his father who lives in Townsend, MT. He is happy to be back and enrolled in the PGA program. Outside of Black Bull Jake enjoys playing with his puppy Seager, hunting, fishing, and of course playing golf. Jake currently resides in Big Timber and Townsend.

PHILOSOPHY

The GAME of golf is a unique and individual one: in that everyone of any and all ages can enjoy this great GAME. Each golfer is different and has their own swing. I enjoy working with each  individual to identify and set goals and work as a team to achieve these goals at their pace. Setting and creating a basic fundamental swing that utilizes the students strengths and produces the most consistent and confident swing possible. Having a more consistent and confident swing makes for much enjoyable and fun experience on the golf course.

Remember to have fun.... Golf is a GAME.
