David Baucom - General Manager
Recently named Top Teacher in Montana by Golf Digest Magazine, David Baucom has had a passion for golf for as long as he can remember, teaching, golfing with and entertaining members all over the world.
He provides lessons to students of all abilities, including beginners, juniors and tour players on the PGA, Canadian Nationwide and Gateway tours. He has been a PGA member for 25 years, serving in various Rocky Mountain Section Board positions including Honorary President, President, Vice President and Secretary.
He has been with Black Bull, in one senior management capacity or another, since it opened in 2007; he is currently the General Manager. Prior to Black Bull, David was the Head Golf Professional at Riverside Country Club for 9 years, moving to Bozeman from Boise, Idaho with his wife, Kelly, and two sons, Harrison and McCall, in 1998.
As an avid outdoorsman: golfer, alpine skier, fly fisherman and hunter, David has had the opportunity over many years to share the sporting lifestyle with members while guiding and entertaining them in the Montana wilderness, or travelling with them all over the world.
David’s professional awards include two-time Rocky Mountain Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year (the highest honor paid to a PGA professional), two-time RMSPGA Teacher of the Year, two-time RMSPGA Private Merchandiser of the Year, three-time RMSPGA Bill Strausbaugh Award, eight years named Golf Digest Top Teachers by State, named Golf Magazine Top 425 Teacher, nominated Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher, and nominated Golf Digest Top 100 Teacher. He has been a member of the PGA Ambassador Program for 10 years (entails golf trips in the US and abroad to provide feedback for PGA Magazine).
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care (Hospital) Administration from Idaho State University. He was a member of the Varsity Golf Team (1984-1987), and the Alpine Ski Team (1987-1989).
