2007 Wine Classic
The Museum of the Rockies is one of the crown jewels of the Bozeman community, and Black Bull Golf Club was proud to be a major sponsor of the 2007 Wine Classic. The Wine Classic, which is the Museum’s biggest annual fundraising gala, was all the more special this year as the Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary. On Saturday, July 14, 2007, over 450 people from all over the country gathered on the Museum grounds in a grand tent to enjoy world-class wines, food by the area’s finest restaurants and caterers, and a live and silent auction with items as varied as one-of-a-kind travel adventures to dinner with Tom and Meredith Brokaw.
The 2006 Wine Classic was the most successful event to date and raised about $600,000. As one of the 2007 major sponsors and a contributor of sought-after auction items, Black Bull is thrilled to have helped raise a record nearly $1 million this year. The Museum of the Rockies is the largest natural and cultural history museum in Montana, with an unsurpassed paleontology collection and research facility, world-class exhibits, a planetarium, and a historic Montana homestead. All proceeds from the Wine Classic go straight back to the Museum and literally serve to keep its doors open—providing thousands of visitors with the opportunity to experience inspiring, educational exhibits and programs—and also enable the Museum to provide free admission to Montana school children.
The Black Bull table hosted some lively guests, including Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer, First Lady Nancy Schweitzer, and former PGA star and Black Bull golf course designer Tom Weiskopf and his wife Lori. Also present were Black Bull Golf Pro David Baucom, the Vice President of Calloway Golf, and representatives from Black Bull developers The Winchester Group and CLB Partners, LLC.
